PRODUCT NAME: AJT CRACK SEAL BLOCK
USE: AJT Crack Seal Blocks AJT Crack Seal Blocks have high elasticity, good viscosity qualities and strong wear resistance. AJT Crack Seal Blocks offers excellent flexible bonding characteristics and can help prevent further crack deformation. With high levels of wear resistance, the crack seal repair should outlive the ordinary pavement service life. The high tear resistance, high temperature resistance in summer conditions and excellent stability at low temperatures makes AJT Crack Seal Blocks an excellent all round Hot Pot Sealing Solution. The good flexibility of AJT Asphalt Crack Seal Blocks greatly reduces the likelihood of the pavement cracking again
METHOD OF APPLICATION
1. Clean the cracks thoroughly from debris, dust and organic matter. An Air Blower is an effective method of cleaning – ensure eye and ear protection is worn.
2. Ensure the crack is dry and free from moisture.
3. Using safe lifting techniques, remove the blocks from boxes and place in hot pot melting machine.
4. Ensure correct PPE is being used for Hot works including eye, ear protection. Gloves, Long shirt and pants are a minimum requirement.
5. Follow Hot pot manufactures guidelines for safe loading and operating of the crack Sealing Unit. It is recommended to heat the blocks to between 180℃-190℃ to make the sealant melt thoroughly. Ensure the block is completely dry –do not put a block in kettle if any moisture present.
6. Use appropriate hand lance to fill the cracks.
7. Ensure the sealant has cooled prior to opening to traffic.
STORAGE: The product should be stored in a well ventilated cool and dry location.
PPE: Installers must be attired correctly including proper work footwear and long sleeve high visibility clothing,protective gloves, safety glasses are recommended. In a confined space with poor ventilation, suitable respiratory equipment should be used. Follow recommendations of Hot Pot manufacturer
FIRE FIGHTING: Suitable extinguisher varieties include CO2, Dry Chemical and foam. Note- water is not suitable
HANDLING: Hands should always be washed after thoroughly after handling. Eye contact must be avoided as should vapour ingestion. Correct manual handling techniques to be used while lifting blocks.
DISPOSAL: The product is not classified as a hazardous waste therefore local government recycling/waste guidelines should be complied with at all times
